In comparison to bottled water, filtered water only requires
1/100 of the plastic and energy or less to produce the filters
and its carbon footprint is accordingly lower. In contrast to
tap water, which is distributed through a sustainable and
energy-efficient infrastructure, transporting bottled water over
long distances involves burning massive quantities of fossil fuels.
